2005 SAROS 134, Columbia Valley

" The 2005 Saros 134 is an unusual blend of 44% Tempranillo, 44% Malbec, and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon. It was aged in 40% new French oak. Opaque purple, it has an enticing nose of violets, black cherry, and blueberry. Ripe, sweet, and opulent on the palate, the wine has outstanding depth, concentration, and incipient complexity. Drink this lengthy wine from 2012 to 2025. It is a tour de force." Dr. Jay Miller, The Wine Advocate - June 2008 (we could not describe it better!)

Our first 2006 release is an early reflection of what is sure to be an outstanding vintage. As fans of our
"
Red Wine" already know, this wine is always a bit different each year - consistently delivering on its intention to be a delicious "early drinker", but with the complexity to age for some years as well. Syrah shines through on this wine - as it is more Syrah based than recent vintages. It does not stop there, however, as layers of complexity unfold with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon adding some darker fruit and soft silky tannins, then all elements intertwine with the essence of Malbec's spice to linger on the pallet. By the time you have a glass it will likely speak in other ways, as this wine is just beginning its journey!
Cases Produced: 850
