Our first 2006 release is an early reflection of what is sure to be an outstanding vintage. As fans of our
" Red Wine" already know, this wine is always a bit different each year - consistently delivering on its intention to be a delicious "early drinker", but with the complexity to age for some years as well. Syrah shines through on this wine - as it is more Syrah based than recent vintages. It does not stop there, however, as layers of complexity unfold with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon adding some darker fruit and soft silky tannins, then all elements intertwine with the essence of Malbec's spice to linger on the pallet. By the time you have a glass it will likely speak in other ways, as this wine is just beginning its journey!

Cases Produced: 850
Varietals: 56% Syrah, 20% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Malbec.
Appellation: Columbia Valley
Vineyards: Conner Lee, Wallula, Spofford Station, Minnick Hills and Stone Valley.
Aging: 18 months in primarily French oak barrels.

Bottled: March 31, 2008

$36 - ORDER NOW!

Like our beautiful 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2006 vintage was produced from Sagemoor (34 year old vines), Conner Lee (19 year old vines) and Klipsun's spectacular Red Mountain vineyard. This year, we include the addition of fruit from the gorgeous Wallula Vineyard, located in the Horse Heaven Hills appellation. The diversity of terroir across each of these vineyards enabled us to craft a wine of fabulous depth. Approachable now, but will develop wonderfully for years to come. Best held to 2010 and later.

Cases Produced: 455
Varietals: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Appellation: Columbia Valley
Vineyards: Conner Lee, Sagemoor, Klipsun & Wallula Vineyards
